LESSON DESCRIPTION

The Psychological Difference Model helps us understand how adult learner priorities and motivation. The model helps us understand some of the psychological needs that adult learners have during lessons. The information helps us choose words and phrases that will frame learning to meet these needs. Framing lessons to meet psychological needs impacts motivation curiosity, interest, and resiliency. 

The Psychological Difference Model conceptually outlines the psychological needs of adult learners. Each of these differences is conceptualized as a Law of Andragogy. 

In this section, we will review the Psychological Difference Model and the impact of psychological needs on the learning adult and how framing (i.e. word choice) can help meet the needs of learners.
