Workshop DESCRIPTION

In a human-centric approach to curriculum, a  teacher plays the role of facilitator and as a guide, they simulate real world workforce scenarios that contextualize academic learning.  Learn how a curriculum can create meaningful learning experiences that even the most reluctant and vulnerable learners can connect with.  READY TO LEARN is an integrated academics and workforce curriculum that focuses on the learner experience.  Lessons emphasize meaning-making, emotion, active learning, application, and critical thinking.  This is no ordinary curriculum.  Three years in the making and fueling ABE and HSE prep programs across the United States,  our human-centric curriculums have been translated into 4 languages and are found support vulnerable learners in over 12 countries. In this workshop, you will learn innovative curriculum design secrets for contexualizing learning and integrating workforce development into academic instruction AND you will meet a curriculum that exemplifies the approach.
