209: DW: The Mentor Model

This discovery course teaches a strategy framework and shared understanding for how to create MENTOR relationships. This webinar integrates positive psychology, social psychology, and cognitive learning skills with fundamental teaching strategies to help vulnerable and reluctant learners.

Building Mentor Relationships: Mentor Model
Increase rapport and develop mentor relationships with students that increase  engagement in program.

Learn a staff MENTOR framework and process for creating respectful, trusting, and non-judgemental partnerships with students. This framework creates shared language among staff and helps staff establish a process for creating authentic mentor relationships with vulnerable and traumatized learners.   Additionally, the Model teaches staff techniques and strategies for building rapport and using daily motivational CARE conversations to fuel a mentor relationship.  Learn how to keep learners open, committed, and progressing towards program goals and outcomes beyond the program honeymoon phase and  during periods of volatility and vulnerability .

The Mockingbird MENTOR Model is influenced from the Camden Coalition Healthcare model.
